Glenn is survived by his wife, Sally of 68 years and their three children: Jeffrey (Kimberly), Jo Ann (Jeremy) Hobart and Jennifer (Mark) Van Inwegen. Six grandchildren: Amanda (Matt) Senkler, Samantha Wilson, Ashley (Julian) Venegas, Karley Noble, Luke and Paige Van Inwegen and five great grandchildren: Collin and Grace Senkler, Marcelo, Emiliano and Santiago Venegas. Sister Marilyn Stenson of Green Bay, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents and younger brother Russell A. Noble of Romeo, Michigan.
He was born in York, Pennsylvania in 1932 to E. Russell Noble and Mabel Elliott Noble of Ontario, Canada and was raised in Royal Oak and Romeo, Michigan. He received a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan with continued graduate studies at the University of Michigan and Harvard University. As a Professional Engineer, he was involved in the design & construction of municipal works and tunnels in multiple US states and was a consultant on subway construction in the Republic of Singapore & Taiwan. In addition, he was published in several trade journals, and was sought out as a construction arbitrator. During his retirement he enjoyed working his 50-acre farm, owning Shorthorn cattle and serving in local government as acting Supervisor and Trustee for Rose Township, Michigan. Throughout his life he was a passionate traveler, he and Sally traveled to numerous countries in South America, Europe, the Caribbean and Asia. In his last 10 years he became fervent in researching and documenting the Noble family tree, cooking and baking his own bread and was an active and contributing member of Thrive (Highland United Methodist Church). The family is deeply saddened at losing a most beloved husband, father, and grandfather, but they take great joy knowing that he impacted so many lives with his charm, wit, and kindness.
A visitation for Glenn will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E Highland Rd, Highland, Michigan 48356. A funeral visitation will occur Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Thrive Church, 680 W Livingston Rd, Highland, MI 48357. A funeral service will occur on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Thrive Church. An interment will occur on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Rose Center Cemetery, 8895 Milford Rd, Holly, MI 48442.
