Clarence “Duke” Cassidy, of White Lake, MI, age 78, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on March 2, 2017. Duke was born October 8, 1938, to the late Shyril and Esther Cassidy in Keego Harbor, Michigan. He is survived by his loving wife of 53+ years, Sharon; his beloved and devoted children, Greg (Donna) Cassidy, Nicki Cassidy, and Dana (Pete) Abray. He was the loving and adored “Papa” to his grandchildren: Luke, Kylie, and Jacob Cassidy, Ryan and Brandon Abray, Nicole (Jose) Cleto, Thomas & Brittany Crane, and great-daughters, Aliyeah and Aria Cleto; in laws, Norma (late Richard) Cassidy, Renee (Ray) Wilkins, Harry (Jeanne) Johns, Brian Johns, (late Richard Johns), Pat and Bruce Nesselrodt and proud uncle to his nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his three brothers; Richard, Henry “Pete,” and Patrick. Over their many years of marriage, Duke was a loving father figure to many of Sharon’s siblings.
Duke served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany for most of his service time and worked for General Motors for 36+ years. As a young man, Duke was a volunteer fireman for White Lake Township Fire Department,
Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Cemetery, Livonia.
Duke was a faithful member of Cedar Crest Lutheran Church for many years.
