Julia L Jones

Julia L (nee Porter) Jones, age 90, of Highland, Indiana, formerly of Hammond, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Julia is the loving wife to the late Teddy Jones; beloved mother to Kimberly (William) Reed of Highland; Michele (Robert Martin) Frankovich of Crown Point and Darrel (Jill) Jones; proud grandmother to Melissa (Matt) Kurth, Jeannette (Zak) Pritchard, Stephanie (Tim) Scoleri, Rachael Reed, and Julie Reed; great grandmother to Tyler Kuehl, Oliver Pritchard, Eloise Pritchard, Beau Kurth and Teddy Scoleri; cherished sister to J.P. (Patty) Porter; sister-in-law to Joel (the late Lita) Jones; aunt to many. Julia was a faithful member of Church of Christ Church of Hammond. She retired after years of service with Strack & Van Til kitchen in Munster. Julia was a master quilter and an avid gardener. She enjoyed spending time with her church family, especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Kuiper Funeral Home (9039 Kleinman Road; Highland, IN 46322). Funeral services will be Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 11:00 am at Kuiper Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed towards the Alzheimer's Association.
