John H. Brewer, age 82, of Griffith, IN passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015. John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris (nee McDonald); son Joel Brewer of Florida; daughter Donna (Ken) Ippolito of St. John; four grandchildren: Amanda (Tonny) Tzanetakos of Dyer, Ariele Morris of Highland, Michael Ippolito of St. John, and Jacob Ippolito of St. John; two great grandchildren: Alexa and Jack; sister Frieda Vaughn of TN. He was preceded in death by his brother Gary Henderson. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. with visitation continuing after the service until 4:00 p.m. John was minister of the Church of Christ in Griffith on Colfax Street. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend. He was especially concerned for the downtrodden of this world.
