William Sheldon Shannon

William Sheldon Shannon, 85, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 following a month of declining health.

William was born in Pittston, PA, November 30, 1937, a son of the late William Patrick Shannon and Mary Winston Shannon. He was a Navy veteran and enjoyed going to the American Legion. William was of the Catholic faith, a man’s man, a jack of all trades and would do anything for anybody. He loved the Giants, Budweiser and was proud to be Irish. William was preceded in death by his son, Donald Murphy and two sisters, Peggy Shannon and Doris Kutcher.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, June Balia Shannon; two daughters, Colleen Shannon and Miriam Poe; two grandchildren, Donald and Shannon Murphy; a great-grandson, Zace Murphy; a sister, Rosie Webber; a brother, Jimmy Shannon; a niece, Bonnie Sarra and his wingman, Tim.

The family will receive friends at Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Friday, December 1, 2023 from 2 until 3 pm. Memorials may be directed to Shriners Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be made at Sechrestdavisphillipsavenue.com.
