Thomas “Punk” Braxton Bradshaw, 98, died on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Maryfield at Pennybyrn. Tom was born in Raleigh on May 14, 1913 to Thomas Tyson Bradshaw and Mary Elizabeth Oaks. He was a St. Sgt. in the Army Air Corp during WWII, stationed in Africa and India. After the war, Tom was manager of Wrights Mens’ Clothing Store for many years, and a member of Good Sheppard Episcopal Church. In 1999, he moved to High Point to live with his family, and attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church. For the last year and a half he lived at Pennybyrn. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn C. Bradshaw.
He is survived by three daughters, Martha Ann White and husband George, Eileen Roberts and husband Pete, and Zerle Lu Hubbard and husband Steve. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Tom’s family wish to give a special thank you to his personal care givers, Maggie Ray and Gladys Riddick, and the staff of Congdon House at Pennybyrn.
Visitation will be Sunday November 13, 2011 at Sechrest Funeral Services in High Point from 2-4pm. A graveside service will be Monday November 14, 2011, 1:00pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh.
