Lois Wood Weavil

Lois Wood Weavil, age 90, a former resident of Davidson County, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023.

Lois was born in Davidson County, July 11, 1932, a daughter of late Ernest and Iris Coe Wood. She loved music and singing with her friends. Lois had a kind and gentle heart and a gift of writing poetry. She dedicated her life to her family and was loved by all who knew her. Lois was a long time member of the Church of Christ in Lexington and had a very strong faith. She and her husband Marshall enjoyed their home, surrounded by nature. Marshall preceded her in death as well as her son, Reggie Weavil and two brothers, Kerney Wood and Theldred Wood.

Surviving are her daughter, Sherri Raeford and her husband Steve; three grandchildren, Clint Bullock and his wife Brittany, Nick Bullock and his wife Jane and Derek Raeford; two great-grandchildren, Caroline Bullock and D.J. Raeford (and one on the way); a sister-in-law, Betsy Wood; and several nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Callie.

A Celebration of Lois's life will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 4 p.m. at the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 p.m. until the service. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont.
