Carol was born in Guilford County, December 15, 1946, a daughter of the late Edward Johnson,Sr. and Ruth Marie Parker Johnson. She worked at the Sheltered Workshop as well as area restaurants as long as her health permitted. Carol loved baby dolls her entire life and had an extensive collection of dolls. She was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church and she loved Christian music. Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Johnson.
Surviving are a sister, Frances O'Connell and her husband Bruce of Norfolk, VA; two brothers, Eddie Johnson, Jr. of Trinity and his companion, Claudia and Dennis Johnson and his wife Wylene of Asheboro; sister in law, Patti Johnson. Also surviving are an aunt, Shirley Parker and uncle, Warren Parker, both of Statesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Carol's life will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 976 Phillips Ave., High Point, NC 27262 with Pastor Daniel Pittman officiating. A private burial will be at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 9 until 10 a.m.
