With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Louis J. Pinto, age 71, of Hicksville, New York, who departed from this world on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Born on July 17, 1952, to Luciano and Adelaide Pinto in New York, New York.
Louis leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He was the adoring husband of Annmarie for over 45 years, a pillar of strength and support to his family. He was a devoted father to Lou Pinto, Jr. (Carolyn) and Danielle Pinto, providing unwavering guidance and love throughout their lives. To his grandchildren, Louis Pinto, III., Daniel Pinto, and Jeanette Pinto, he was the epitome of a Pop Pop, showering them with affection and creating cherished memories. He awaited with joy the arrival of a soon-to-be granddaughter.
Louis was also a cherished brother to Jeanette (Richie Georgecink), Joseph Pinto (Debbie), and Debbie DiCandia (Mike Cacoperdo), forming bonds of love and camaraderie that stood the test of time.
A man deeply committed to his community, Louis dedicated his time and efforts to the Jericho Fire Department, exemplifying selflessness and bravery in service to others.
His culinary talents were renowned, bringing joy to his family's table with dishes such as Aglio Olio, Lasagna, Cordon Bleu, French Onion Soup, and Mushrooms. He found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was trying his luck at the slot machines at Borgata in Atlantic City or engaging in friendly competition through bowling and golf.
Louis's sense of humor was infectious, brightening the lives of all who knew him. Yet, above all else, he cherished his friendships and the role of being a Pop Pop with unmatched warmth and affection.
A Visitation to honor Louis's life will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, 125 Old Country Rd, Hicksville, New York 11801. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, 129 Broadway, Hicksville, New York, followed by an Interment at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 16 Powells Lane, Old Westbury, NY 11568.

Louis will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may have left this world, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love he shared so generously.
