William Blake Taylor

Born on June 30, 1939 in Catawba County, NC, he was the son of the late Charles Taylor and Violet Douglas Taylor. William was veteran of the US Army, and he also retired from General Electric.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Blake Taylor; and a sister, Virginia Haynes; son-in-law, Jeff Hedrick.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marie Taylor; daughter, Cindy Taylor; step daughter, Karin Hedrick; step son, Kevin Lail (Mandy); grandchildren, Brandon Taylor (Marlo), Kaylee Taylor, Paxton Peterson (Luke), Taylor Hedrick, Sydnie Lail, Dane Hedrick and Allie Lail; great grandchildren, Blayke and Brynn Taylor and Adley Lail.

A Memorial service will be held at Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations with James Kirby officiating on September 23, 2017 at 12pm.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00-11:45am at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Jeff Hedrick Brain Cancer Foundation at HEDSTRONG/Karin Hedrick 927 15th St NE Hickory, NC 28601.
