Wanda Tucker Shook

HICKORY---Wanda Tucker Shook, 53, has gone to her new home in heaven, Friday, March 18, 2016. Wanda was born April 30, 1962 in Catawba County to the late Herbert Tucker and Janice Wiggins Tucker. Wanda was a very caring person. She was a disciplined hard worker in retail at Wal-Mart for 25 years. She had a great church family of faith and encouragement that has helped every step of the way. She had many friends and family members that were so very loving and giving. Her faith and courage have inspired a multitude. The family would like to thank all the medical professionals in Hickory and Duke University Medical Center for all their care after her diagnosis. She was a woman of faith strength, courage and tenacity. She was a loving irreplaceable wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, a real sweetheart and so loving of others especially our Heavenly Father whom she is now with. She is survived by her husband Kelly Shook of the home; her son Austin Shook ; her mother Janice Tucker; her sisters June Clay and her husband Robert, Connie Crawford and her husband John; her mother –in-law Donna Sweat and husband Reggie; her brother-in-law Mark Shook and his wife Ramona and a number of nieces and nephews all of Hickory. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 3:30pm to 5:00pm at Highland Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 5:00pm at Highland Baptist Church with Reverend Jesse Lott and Reverend Mack Mathis officiating.
