HICKORY— Vicie Carswell Hildebran, 94 of Hildebran passed away peacefully at Frye Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Born in Catawba County on January 5, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Bessie Watts Carswell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Hildebran Sr.; her daughter Pauline H. Barnes; sisters Christine Smith, Derlen Evans, Lucy Hicks, and Lillian Botch; brothers Garland, Darby, and Lero Carswell and a daughter-in-law Ida Mae Matthews Hildebran. She is survived by her sons Lewis “Junior” Hildebran Jr. of Hildebran, Paul Hildebran of Statesville, and Leeroy “Popeye” Hildebran of the home; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. The funeral will be Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Earnest Richards officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
