Sylvia Margaret Hightower

SYLVIA MARGARET OUTEN HIGHTOWER Sylvia Margaret Outen Hightower of Lenoir passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 after a brief illness at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. Born May 28, 1954 in Kershaw Co. SC. She was the daughter to the late Clyde and Lubertha Outen. Sylvia was a faithful member of Dula Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an Usher, Pastor’s Aide, and a Prayer Warrior. She was loved by everyone, including her family, friends and church. She loved the Lord and praised him till the very end of this life. She was indeed a woman of God fulfilling the scripture Proverbs 31:30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing. But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by brother Harry “Buck” Taylor. She leaves behind her loving husband of 42 years Anthony Hightower; seven children Margaret Lester (Mike), Mary Hightower, Anita Ransby (Lamont), Anthony M. Hightower (Emilee), Allen Hightower (of Charlotte), Amy Hightower, Kevin Hightower all of Lenoir; six grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers. Services will be held Wednesday January 28, 2015 at Dula Chapel Missionary Baptist Church 1575 Miller Hill Road in Lenoir at 1 pm. Family will receive friends from 12-1 at the church. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations are providing services for the Hightower family.
