HICKORY- Shelby Jean Kale, 77, passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at Trinity Village. Shelby was born July 2, 1937, in Beckley, W.Va., to the late Earl and Effie Icenhour Farrar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kale and a son, Mark Kale. She was employed by Regal Mfg. for 33 years. Surviving are her sons, John Kale, of Hickory and Paul Kale and fiance, Julie Smith, of Taylorsville; daughter-in-law, Leeanne Kale; granddaughters, Neely Barham and husband, Matt, of Hickory, Emily March and husband, Jason, of Hickory and Marlee Kale, of Hickory; grandson, Hunter Kale, of Bethlehem; great-granddaughter, Bella Barham, of Hickory; great-grandson, Kale Barham, of Hickory; and an aunt, Mary Icenhour, of Taylorsville. Services will be Sunday, Feb. 1, at 3 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jeff Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
