Mary Lou Walker

Conover - Mary Lou Hinson Walker, 80 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on March 9, 1942 in Catawba County, NC she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Ruby Causby Hinson. Other than her Savior, Jesus Christ, her family was her everything and all that she lived for. She will be held in our hearts forever and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles Edward Walker; 2 brothers, Michael Hinson and Joseph Hinson and a sister, Kathy Hinson Poovey.

Those left to cherish her memory include, 2 daughters, Regina Walker Tuttle and husband, Doyle and Charlene Walker Schlitt and husband Christopher; 5 grandchildren, Dylan Walker-Shook and wife, Natalie, Megan Shook, Holly Tuttle Hamilton and husband, Joshua, Clayton Schlitt and wife, Sarah, and Taylor Schlitt Carlton and husband, Dustin; 9 great grandchildren, Drew Walker-Shook, Malayah Linebarger, Haley Hamilton, Benjamin Hamilton, Chance Carlton, Charli Carlton, Mckinley Schlitt, Adalyn Schlitt, and the expected new arrival of Ivyonne Linebarger; 2 sisters, Jean Yount and husband, Troy and Sandra Clark and fiancée, Robin Peck; a brother, Roger Hinson and wife, Brenda; there are also numerous family and friends to cherish her memory; a special thanks to our mother’s caregivers, as well as, the staff of Carolina Caring of Newton.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
