Jack Wayne Buckner

Hickory—Jack Wayne Buckner, 74, passed away suddenly on Friday May 1, 2015. Jack was born April 4, 1941 in Catawba Co. to the late Horace Buckner and Virginia C. Buckner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son Ricky Buckner and a brother Glenn Daniel Buckner. He has worked at Hickory Manufacturing in the finishing room, and attended Providence Baptist Church. Surviving are his brothers Charles R. Buckner of Vale, William “Buck” Buckner of Lenoir, Gary Lee Buckner of Connelly Springs, Billy Dean Buckner of Vale, sisters Judy Eldridge of Winston-Salem, Sue Hicks of Winterhaven, FL, a son Jimmy Buckner, a daughter Cathy Buckner Alexender and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday May 6, 2015 from 12:45 PM until 1:45pm PM at Hickory Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday May 6, 2015 at 2 PM at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ernest Richards officiating.
