HICKORY— Howard Rowe Poovey Jr., 71 passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 unexpectedly at his residence. Born in Catawba County on June 2, 1945 he was the son of late Howard Rowe and Margaret Honeycutt Poovey Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife Debra Ann Poovey. He was a retired tractor mechanic. He is survived by his son Greg Poovey and wife Tonya; a daughter Jennifer Doble; a sister Gayle White and husband Eric; a brother Rick Poovey and wife Sheila; a granddaughter Cere Poovey; and a grandson Eric Poovey all of Hickory. The memorial service will be Monday, July 18, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel Pastor Dave Guelzow and Pastor David Ziehr will be officiating.
