Grady Sloan Hollers

HICKORY – Grady Sloan Hollers, 81 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Grady was born on May 3, 1942 in Watauga County to the late Everett and Bessie Almeda Hollars. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. Grady was a Veteran of the US Army and US Army Reserves. He loved estate sales, wood carving, coin collecting, fishing, golf, playing cards and loved to tell a good story or a joke.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Frances Henson and Kenneth Hollers.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Janet Lee Williams and husband, Tip, Debbie Lynn Gross and partner Billy Williams; grandchildren, Jimmy Nicholson and wife Jessica, Justin Nicholson, Austin Gross, Carson Gross; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Audrey McKay; nephews, Danny and Mike McKay; numerous friends and other family members.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or Carolina Caring.
