Grace Parker Lipscomb

GRACE PARKER LIPSCOMB HICKORY- Grace P. Lipscomb, 86 of Hickory passed away on March 2, 2015 at the Brian Center Viewmont. Born May 28, 1928 to the late C. E. and Pearl Parker in Alexander County. She was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church. Grace loved gardening, cooking, word searches and playing bingo. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband, Preston Lipscomb; and seven brothers. Survivors include her four loving children, Nelson A. Mackey and wife Angie of Newton, Joanne Testerman of Bethlehem, John T. Mackey and wife Judy of Hickory, Maxine Rudisill and husband Allen of Hickory; six grandchildren, Carole Ellis, Denise Rucker, Laura Hass, Chad Rudisill, Stephanie Mackey, and Kyle Rudisill; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2pm at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Preacher Tim Grindstaff officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1-2 pm at the funeral home. The family would like to give a special thanks to loving staff and friends of the Brian Center.
