Geraldene "Gerri" Carpenter Reed

She was born on July 18, 1938 to the late Ray Carpenter and Viola Herman Carpenter in Catawba County.

Along with her parents, her husband, Robert “Bob” Henry Reed; sisters, Betty Lutz, Thelma Waters, and brother, Sherman Carpenter preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Young and husband Jeff of Hickory, Debbie Frazier and husband Mike of Claremont; grandchildren, Tasha Carlisle and husband Jeremy of Conover, Jamie Killian and husband Bradley of Claremont, Mikayla Frazier and Derek of Newton, Jeff Young Jr. of Hickory, Adam Frazier and Jesica of Claremont, Hunter Frazier of Claremont; great grandchildren, Haley Caldwell and husband Caleb of Maiden, Trinity Hicks of Claremont, Brooklyn Young of Hickory, Jake Young of Alaska, Mason Carlisle of Conover, Maddox Carlisle of Conover.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. There will be a gathering of friends from 10:45 until 11:45 prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
