Fannie Flora Putnam Caldwell, 99 of Newton went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on June 18th, 1925, in Haywood County, NC, Fannie was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Sarah Elizabeth Conard Putnam. Granny loved to quilt, cook, and loved to play bingo. One of her favorite sayings was, “You have to love everybody and get along with each other, because you are not promised tomorrow.” Granny was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Caldwell, and children, David Caldwell, Eugene Caldwell, Katherine Boyd and Thomas Caldwell, as well as four sisters and four brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her daughters, Bonnie Weaver, Frances Blanton and her husband Terry Blanton.
She was blessed with seventeen Grandchildren, thirty-two Great Grandchildren and twenty-eight Great Great Grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Monday, January 13th, 2025, at 2pm with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1pm to 2pm.
