Ernest Russell Freeman Sr.

Ernest was born on September 18, 1927 in Catawba County. to the late Arthur and Emma Starnes Freeman..

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an, grand daughter, Kimberly Dawn Turpin infant grandson ,Bryan Keith Freeman, a son-in-law , David Beller, three brothers, Grover, Dudley, and Samuel Freeman and three sisters, Alberta Benson, Mabel Bryant and Mae Freeman .

Ernest was a member of Oakland Height Baptist Church and retired from Shuford Mills.

Surviving are three sons; Ernest R. Freeman Jr. and wife, Christine of Lenoir, Henry Freeman and wife Angie of Hickory, Keith Freeman of Hickory, a daughter, Loretta Freeman Beller of Hickory, grandchildren; Rhonda Daniels and husband Thomas, Mark Reitzel and wife Eve, Chuck Freeman and wife, Tiffany, Sandy Freeman, Scott Freeman and wife April, Mike Freeman and wife Rose, Andy Freeman and wife Terri, Kristi F. Lail and husband Darrin, great- grandchildren, Amber Burns, Bryson Freeman, Aubrey Lail, Ashley Holsclaw, April Burns, ,Daniel Holsclaw, Eric Burns, Caleb Hosey, Heather Anderson and husband Tim, Christina Freeman, Cameron Freeman, Drew Freeman, great –great- grandchildren, Mckenzie Burns, Avery Burns, Lacey Anderson, Mason Anderson, and Novina Clinton a companion for many years and a special friend of the family .

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 3:00 P. M. at Oakland Heights Baptist Church with the Reverend Joel Cook officiating

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday January 23, 2011 from 3:00P. M. until 5:00 P.M. at Hickory Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be; Mark Reitzel, Andy Freeman, Darrin Lail, Danny Holsclaw, Chuck Freeman and Scott Freeman.
