Debra Lynne Gibson Simmons

Debra Lynne Gibson Simmons, age 60, treasured wife, devoted mother and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2018 at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV. Born December 14, 1957 in Greenbrier, WV, she was the daughter of the late Richard Daniel “Hoot” Gibson and Lyndall Grace Bostic Gibson.

Debra lived for her kids and her grandkids. She took pride in her Virginia roots and was a diehard New England Patriots fan. Debra created joyful family memories vacationing each year at Topsail Beach. She was employed by Sell Ethics Marketing Group for 14 years as a Retail Merchandizer. She embraced her co-workers as family.

Debra is survived by her husband, Keith Simmons, sons, Joey Koncoski and wife Danica, of Roanoke, VA, Jonn-Marc Stevenson of Hickory, and James Simmons of Boston; daughter, Hali Haas and husband Brad of Hickory; grandchildren, Julia and Paxton Koncoski and Peyton and Brooklyn Haas; sisters, Nita Gibson of Covington, VA and Barbara (Pete) Preast and husband J.D. of Fayetteville, WV; brothers, Danny Gibson and wife Emma of Covington, VA, and Greg Gibson of Arizona; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Patti Simmons of Hickory; and many much loved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church, 9379 NC Hwy 127 N, Hickory, NC, with Pastor Michael Stone and Pastor Crockett Davidson officiating. The family cordially invites you to join them in the Celebration Hall of the church following the service to share memories of Deb.
