Claude was born in Catawba County on September 18, 1952, to the late Claude Luther Strickland, Sr. and Faye Sherrill Strickland.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother Roger Strickland and a sister Sandra Truitt.
Claude was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and worked for Greer Laboratories in Lenoir. He was also a charter member of the Hickory Choral Society.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Hamm Strickland of the home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 17, at 11:00 A.M at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. William Trexler officiating.
Interment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park
.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 16, from 6:30 P.M until 8:00 P.M at Hickory Funeral Home.
