CLARA LEE HENLEY HALL HICKORY-Clara Lee Hall, 85 of Hickory went home to be with her Lord and her son Fred Lee Davis on September 27, 2015 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. She was born on February 21, 1930 in Guilford County, the daughter of the late Sam and Nettie Henley. A long-time supporter and volunteer for the mentally challenged, Clara’s passion was working with the handicapped through Life Skills of Catawba County. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Clara was a former teacher of Comp Ed with CVCC, a charter member of Hickory Women’s Business Club, former member and volunteer with Kiwanis and League of Women Voters. She also supported Hickory Museum of Art, Science Center and the Patrick Beaver Library. Clara was a graduate of Kings Business College in Greensboro, NC. In addition to her parents and her son, Fred, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred R. Hall and a number of brothers and sisters. Survived by her daughter, Pamela Holt and husband Dan of Charlotte; son, Gene Davis and wife Kim of Hudson; grandchildren, Greg Holt and Catherine Holt of Charlotte, Sarah Davis Lynch and husband Sean of New York. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 2 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Rev. Jackie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-2 PM at the funeral home.
