Orestes Eladio Carrazana, 95, passed away peacefully at home in Hialeah, Florida surrounded by his family and loved ones on Easter Sunday, April 9th, 2023. Orestes was born February 18th, 1928 in Las Villas, Cuba, to Inocente Carrazana Figueroa and María de Jesús Moreno Lugo, and was the oldest of 9 children.
Orestes was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Dora Vazquez, of Las Villas, Cuba. He is survived by his companion of 28 years Migdalia Perez, his daughter, Maria (deceased Robert) Babilonia, his son Orestes (Mary Pita) Carrazana, and his daughter Ileana (Jorge) Lazo and his 6 grandchildren, Victoria and Elizabeth Babilonia, Kyle and Kristen Carrazana, and Andrea and Angela Lazo.
Orestes was a Cuban immigrant who left Cuba in 1955, along with his brother-in-law, Pedro Vazquez to come to the U.S. to live the American dream.
He enjoyed fishing, playing weekly dominoes games with his lifelong friends, sharing his love of baseball with his son and using his country roots in his backyard garden. Most of all he adored spending time with the people he loved.
