Theodore Kaplan

KAPLAN- Theodore, of Valley Stream, New York passed away on March 3, 2017. Beloved husband of Selma Kaplan for 61 years (deceased 2011), he is survived by his son, Steven Kaplan, daughter Diane Rubin, son-in-law Marc Rubin and his two grandchildren, Michael and Nicole Rubin. Brother of Rebecca, Elise Silverstein and Irene Hochler. Born on January 4, 1927 in New York, he grew up on the Lower East Side. An avid learner, he attended city college and then Brooklyn Law School. He also earned his CPA Certificate and both practiced Law and Accounting. Ted, as most people called him, will be best remembered for his generosity and kind personality. Helping others was his passion, especially people in need. he volunteered his legal services for may years as President of S.A.I.L. (South Shore Association for Independent Living) which was very close to his heart.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 10:30Am at Boulevard-Riverside Chapels in Hewlett at 1450 Broadway.

The family will be sitting Shiva at the residence of Theodore Kaplan following the service from 2pm until 8pm and on Tuesday March 7th from 4pm until 8pm at 140 Hungry Harbor Rd, Valley Stream NY
