Norman Walter Hough passed away on April 22nd, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on June 3rd, 1939, he was known for his silly sense of humor; his love for his family, life, and adventure; his giving nature; his uncanny ability to fix anything; and his love for donuts at any time of the day. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Fay; his grateful children, Teri, David, and Kim; his fortunate grandchildren, Adrienne, Jeff, Luke, Warren, Jake, Antonio, Emily, and Angelina; his adored 11 great-grandchildren; three loving sisters and a brother; among countless other nieces, nephews, in-laws, outlaws, friends, acquaintances, and zero enemies.
Norman’s life was characterized by his ability to turn any event, good or bad, into an adventure, and an insatiable wanderlust that carried he and Fay across the US and Canada. He will be remembered for his dedication to the service of others, and his unfailing and superlative generosity.
Norman was born and raised in Montreal, Canada before moving to the US at the age of 14. He enlisted in the Marines and met Fay during his enlistment. They married and began their lives together with Norman working as a lineman and supervisor for Pacific Bell Telephone Company for over 36 years. He relished his retirement but never slowed down and always had multiple projects he was working on in between fixing the plumbing, electrical, and anything else at his friends’, neighbors’, and families’ homes. He will be sorely missed by anyone who ever had the great fortune to know him.
