Ralph E. Constantine, age 76, of Las Vegas, passed away on April 21, 2024, at Sunrise Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Ralph was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, one of four children of the late, John and Gertrude Whalen Constantine.
The family moved from Greensburg to Erie, Pennsylvania when Ralph was three years old. Ralph grew up in Erie and graduated from Strong Vincent High School. Upon graduation he joined the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge from the military, he made his way west and eventually settled in Las Vegas. He worked at many jobs throughout the years, including a stint at a gold mine in northern California. He met the love of his life, Debbie Blauschild, in Las Vegas in 1995. They had many happy years together, enjoying their families, traveling, going to car shows and car races, and participating in charitable activities such as fund-raising walks. They were together until her death in October of 2022. Ralph loved his family dearly and he was an important part of the lives of all his siblings and their families, and Debbie’s family.
Ralph had become a sprinkler fitter and retired from that profession at age 62. His retirement was short-lived as he enjoyed being around people and being busy. Ralph took a part time position with the Food Service Department of CCSD, and volunteered at the USO, and his church, St. Viator's. In addition to attending St. Viator's, he was an usher at the 8:00 a.m. Sunday mass for many years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his parents and Debbie Blauschild, Ralph was preceded in death by his nephew in law, Chris Wenzler in June of 2020, and his only sister, Sally Constantine Rettew in February of 2024. Ralph is survived by his older brother, Jack Constantine; his younger brother, Joe (Karen) Constantine; his nieces: Melissa Wenzler and Elizabeth (Chris) Thompson; his nephews: Kevin Constantine, Anthony (Tiffani) Constantine, and Ryan Constantine. In addition, he had several great nieces and nephews.
Services will be announced when all arrangements are finalized.
