Paul Oscar Green

Paul Oscar Green passed away on June 18, 2024, at the age of 85 after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Henderson, Nevada. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Green and Lucille Yenawine, his sister, Gerry Lou, and his daughter, Lindie Leopard. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lea Green, his sister, Sylvia Schwing, his three sons, Michael, Thomas, and David, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In 1956, Paul graduated from Hoover High School in San Diego, California. After finishing high school, he went to work at the Southern Pacific Railroad as an electrical apprentice. Paul married Lea Rachel Willmott on April 20, 1963 and took up residence in San Diego, California, where they raised their four children. In August of 1963, Paul was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served many callings in the church, including scoutmaster for 20 years. His troop, 248, was named one of the top 50 LDS Boy Scout troops.

Through the church, Paul met Floyd and Ray Arnold who owned Arnold Rebar Benders. They offered Paul a job as an electrician, so he left the railroad and began his journey in the manufacturing business. In 1970 Arnold Rebar Benders became Digital Machines International (DMI), where Paul was the production manager. In 1986, Paul started Rebar Machine Service (RMS) and in 1991, Paul moved the business from San Diego to Las Vegas, Nevada, where it still is going strong.

Paul’s hobbies included boating, camping, riding motorcycles, racing, and working on hot rods. He had a love for Corvairs, Corvettes and model trains. In 1972, Paul raced the Baja 1000 on a 1970 Yamaha 360 and was also a member of the 200 MPH Club at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Paul will be remembered by many great friends in the business and race world and for his unwavering faith in the Lord.
