Karlene Kracht, 82, of Boulder City, Nevada, passed away quietly in the early evening on Friday, March 12, 2021; holding hands with her children. She was born February 24, 1939 in Pocahontas, Iowa. She transitioned to Orange County, California; and then retired in Boulder City with her husband, Don Kracht of 43 years.
Karlene was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of six. She was considered an angel by those who knew her because she was always there to lend a hand, cook a wonderful Friday night dinner or just stop by to chat about what is happening in the world. Strong, independent, and a loyal friend who was great company on golf outings, for a Mexican food lunch or for a glass of wine. She touched people’s lives across the country and there are many who are thinking of the twinkle in her eye, with her glowing smile that radiated a joy of living. Karlene reached out to people in need, volunteering for St. Andrews and the Elks Lodge throughout her life. We will all miss her in our lives but know she will be in our hearts forever.
Karlene was proceeded in death by her husband; Donald Kracht; parents: Wesley Ott and Ione Ott, Alice Spiker-Ott (biological mother who passed away when Karlene was only a few months old), brother, Donald Ott; and sister, Carol Mart. She is survived by her children: Leah Mayhugh, of Palm Springs; Brian A. Pambogo (Monica) of Anaheim; Karla M. Pambogo (Angelo), of Reno; Thomas Kracht of Huntington Beach; and Susan Oslie (Guy), of San Diego; ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
For all who loved Don and Karlene there will be a future celebration of life at the Elk’s Lodge mid-summer (date TBD) with a memorial service, perhaps a golf tournament, most likely music and warm fellowship that will honor their lives.
A funeral mass for Karlene will be held Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005. Karlene will be laid to rest at 11:30 AM at Boulder City Municipal Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd, Boulder City, NV 89005.
Due to Covid-19, government restrictions will be in place, and all guests must wear a mask.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmboulderhighway.com for the Kracht family.
