It is with great sadness that the Kline family announces the loss of Gordon “Skip” Kline, who passed away in Henderson, Nevada on December 7, 2021, at the age of 77. He was born in Kingman, Arizona, and was a lifelong resident of Henderson, Nevada.
Skip was preceded in death by the love of his life, Charlotte Kline. They were married nearly 59 years. He is survived by his three children, Kathy Kline, Gordon Paul (Tammy) Kline and Charles Kline; six Grandchildren: Brad (Cara) Kline, Dustin Kline, Kennedy Sparling, Karlee Sparling, Gordon Charles Kline, and Kaylee Kline; and four Great-Granddaughters.
Skip was a beloved member of the Henderson community who touched many lives, through business, racing and most of all, through his love and dedication to his family. He and his wife Charlotte were local small business owners for many years of Skip’s Ameritone Paints in Henderson. Skip, a painter by trade, worked for Las Vegas Painting and then was Vice President of Ford Contracting for more than 20 years. Skip was committed to and supportive of his family and their hobbies. He enjoyed coaching his sons pee wee baseball games. His biggest joy was off road desert racing. In his early years he raced in the Mint 400 and other SNORE races. His love of the sport was engrained in his children and grandchildren as well. He supported them in their passion for racing and was always their biggest fan. If there was a race, you could always find him at the finish line watching them get the checkered flag.
Skip was a man of few words, but you could always hear him loud and clear. He will be dearly missed by his entire family.
