Arthur Richard Prouty, Sr. died at the age of 93 due to complications of pneumonia, at Desert Springs Hospital on December 6, 2015. Arthur is survived by his wife, Zenaida of Nevada; son, A. Richard Prouty Jr. and his wife Margaret of California; pre-deceased by his son, Robert Prouty of Georgia; and survived by his daughter-in-law, Daphine Prouty of Georgia; and by his daughter, Lynne Flammer and her husband Matt of Virginia; and by his daughter, Luella Windisch and her husband Bob of Hawaii; plus 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Additionally, Art and Zeny have numerous family in Illinois and the Philippine Islands. He will be best remembered for the following activities and contributions: Military Service: US Navy 1940-1968 (WWII, Korea, Vietnam), VFW Post #2432 (Past Post Commander), DAV, and Fleet Reserve Association. Civil Service: Regional Administrative Officer Dependent School Systems Pacific, Pearl Harbor & Okinawa and Air Wing Administrative Officer, Nellis AFB. Masonic Lodges: Shrine (Aloha Temple), Scottish Rite, Yorkshire Rite, and International High Twelve. Services will be held at Saint Thomas More Church, 130 N. Pecos, Henderson, NV on Tuesday, December 29th at 10 a.m.; followed by Burial with Military Honors at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City at 12:40 pm; Zeny’s son, Father Dennis Barlaan of Fort Lauderdale, FL will officiate. A celebration of his Life will be held at the Church Hall following the burial. The Filipino congregation of St. Thomas More are hosting refreshments & potluck buffet. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
