Horan, William Patrick "Bill" of Sun City, CA - William Horan, age 86, passed away on Thursday, 11/13/2014, peacefully in his sleep. Some say he simply, forgot to wake up? Bill was born 11/21/1927 in Willmar, MN to the late John and Henrietta (Bartleson) Horan. Bill was predeceased by his loving wife, Rita Ann Horan (April 28, 2001) of whom he wed May 30, 1951 in Sioux City, IA and siblings John, Ann Marie, Gertrude (Gerry), Bette and Katherine (Kay.) Bill is survived by his younger brother, Jim (Annette) Horan and three sons, Michael P. Horan (Jill), Robert W. Horan and David A. Horan (Ann Marie) as well as five grandchildren; Erin M. Horan, Andrea E. Horan, Joshua D. Horan, Alec M. Horan and Mason P. Horan. Bill served 2-tours in the U.S. Navy as an ETM-3. On August 16, 1957 he became a dedicated member of the Anaheim Fire Department wherein nearly 26-years later, on February 24, 1983 he retired as Fire Captain. Both Bill and Rita were devoted parents as well as loyal friends and neighbors. Later in life they seized the opportunity to travel world wide but most frequented tropical destinations such as HI and MX. In Bills past time he enjoyed baseball and wood working wherein he made his granddaughters a multilevel doll house and his grandsons a zoo themed toy box and pony rocker, amongst other gems of which will always be treasured. On Bill's 87th birthday, with full military honors, family and friends present, Cpt. Horan was laid to rest beside his beloved wife of 50-years at the Riverside National Cemetery. His strong will and caring demeanor will be missed by all that knew and loved him. We will, with much love and admiration, see you on the other side "Grumpy!"
