Born Saturday, November 11, 1916 in Sioux City, Iowa, he was the son of the late John Mayne and the late Naomi Burns Mayne.
He served as a SIG C in the Army from 1942 until 1945. Robert worked as a Chief Switchman in the communications industry for 38 years.
Robert was passionate about golf, whether he was playing it or watching it on TV. He also enjoyed watching the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Rams.
Surviving are son, Dennis Mayne, grandchildren, Shannon and Miranda, and great grandchildren, James and Brandon.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, February 05 at Miller-Jones Mortuary- Hemet located at 1501 W Florida Ave., Hemet, California. A graveside service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA on Wednesday, February 6 at 10:15 a.m.
