Born Thursday, July 7, 1921 in Beatrice , Nebraska, he was the son of the late Forrest Ekberg and the late Trillie Hohn Ekberg. He was the husband of Jean Ekberg, married 35 years.
He worked at selling mobile homes at the Colonial Garden Club for seven years. He loved to play golf and was an avid Kansas State fan. Every chance he had he tried to recruit for Kansas State. He was an Elk member for 65 years, a Shriner, Mason Scottish Rite,Yorkrite, and Lt Govenor Optimist Club. He liked to take vacations to Kansas to visit family and friends. He also enjoyed shuffleboard.
Surviving are son, Kent Alan Ekberg of Manhattan, KS, daughter, Carol Jean Zuercher of Branson, MO, brother, Donald Eugene Ekberg of Big Bear, CA, sister, Shirley Ann Booth of Danville, CA; 4 grand children.
