Esperanza Udave Reyes

Esperanza Udave Reyes passed away on March 22, 2023 in Coachella, California. She was born on April 30, 1934 in El Puesto, Jalisco to her parents, Jose and Adela Udave. While living in Mexico, Esperanza met the love of her life, Salome Reyes, at the age of 16. On April 5, 1955, Esperanza married Salome in Mexico. They eventually moved to the United States and had five children. Esperanza was a dedicated wife and mother, but she was also a very hard worker. She worked as a date packer in a packing warehouse for nearly 26 years. When she wasn’t busy working, Esperanza was an active member of her church. She even spent about six years assisting the local prison ministry. Esperanza also enjoyed spending time at the Thermal City Senior Center. She was an amazing woman who will be missed by all of her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Salome Reyes, her parents, Jose and Adela Udave, her grandson, Joe Damian Reyes, and her son-in-law, Rudy Gonzalez. Esperanza is survived by her children, David (Dolores) Reyes, Javier (Yvonne) Reyes, Betty Gonzalez, Nancy (Eric) Steffen, and Raul Reyes, nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 4PM-8PM at Abundant Life Church in Indio, California. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 10AM at Abundant Life Church and a graveside service will follow at Coachella Valley Public Cemetery at 12PM.
