After 97 years Dad was relieved of the watch. He was a WWII Fighting Seabee with the 83rd Construction Battalion. He served in the Pacific and was in the Philippines during the Philippine Liberation. After leaving the service in 1945 Dad forged a career in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. He had an appliance Sales and Repair store when I was in first grade. It was in that store we watched the coverage of the JFK assassination on all 20 televisions in the showroom. Mom (Evelyn) and Dad were married 60 years prior to her death in 2018. He is survived by Guy (Amy) Anastasia, Cathy (Gail) Thompson and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services will be held on December 3rd (10:30 AM) at the Riverside National Cemetery.
