Betty Louise Prince passed peacefully while resting in her favorite chair on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at her home in Hemet, California. She was the widow of Bob Prince and celebrated 61 years of marriage this last April.
Betty was born in Lewiston, Idaho daughter of Mona (Jennings) and Theodore Gifford on September 20, 1930. She lived on a ranch in Idaho during her childhood years, graduated from Escondido High School in Escondido Ca, married in 1949 and moved to Oxnard, Ca where she started her family and developed life-long friends. Moving again to La Mirada, Ca she started working at Vons Market, and had an active social calendar with the best of friends. Another move brought her to Hemet, Ca. where she became an accomplished Tole Painter and bridge player, continued working at Vonds, invited a daughter-in-law into the family and became an awesome grandmother and then great-grandmother. She will always be remembered for her laughter, her style, and kindness to others. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother she will always be our guiding light.
Betty is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, her son and daughter-in-law, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Bob Prince and brother Charles Gifford and sister Marilyn Gifford.
A graveside service is planned on September 9, 2020 from 10 - 10:30am at the San Jacinto Valley Cemetery. Masks are required, there will be no seating and personal umbrellas suggested.
