Barbara Jean Benton-Freda

Barbara Jean Benton-Freda, age 83, of Hemet, California passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Barbara was born in Sterling, Oklahoma on her Grandparents Farm (Magnussen). She was the daughter of Ernest William Benton and Margarita Antje Magnussen-Benton. Prior to retirement, Barbara worked at Redlands Community Hospital as a phlebotomist. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Barbara was six months old when her family moved to San Bernardino County at the end of the Dust Bowl. Barbara lived in San Bernardino County for 42 years prior to moving to Hemet, California. She was an amazing Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She loved to sing and dance . One of her favorite songs was "I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack". We know she is singing and dancing in Heaven now and entertaining everyone.

Preceding her in death was her 1st husband, Lester Edward Freda of 31 years and her 2nd husband Raymond Patke.

She is survived by her children, Vanessa Jean Freda-Hernandez(David), Wendy Lynn Freda-Diaz (Mike) and Laura Freda-Fisher (Brad). Six Grandchildren, Erica Hernandez-Reid (Cody), Amanda Freda-Richardson, Christopher Hanss, Michaela Diaz, Maddie Diaz and Anthony Diaz. Four Great Grandchildren, Alexa Richardson, Leo Ortiz, Alice Hanss-Reid and Jackson Reid.
