Sid. Such spirit. Kid like enthusiasm. A love of life. And family, unique and special. Such  loss. So very sorry.

When I met Sidney he was 11 years old. He was the best man at  Sammy and My wedding..and a bar mitzvah boy the following year! I watch him grow up  and become the amazing man he was! We often laughed about the fact that we both shared the same name ( mine through marriage). Sydney Blauner and Sidney Blauner! We would argue and say to each other “you’re the good one “…”no, you’re the good one”.. 
2weeks before losing him he hosted a beautiful holiday celebration in his house and as usual, we had our argument! HE  was and always will be the best! May his memory be a blessing!!

I met Sid when I was 15 years old. He was the kind of man that whenever he spoke, you wanted to listen. He was a man that knew about many things in life and can speak on many topics. He had wisdom, he had passion. I am saddened to hear about the loss. My condolences are with the Blauner family.

I have known Sid for a only a few years working with him helping out with anything he needs whether that is helping him move furniture or help out at the game farm. During that short period of time  I have witnessed a man who was full of love laughter and happiness. Someone who would randomly text me and see how I’m doing when he doesn’t have to. I have grown close to sid and saw him as a mentor and friend and I was devastated when I heard of his passing but I believe he is in a much better place now and will always keep him close to my heart to remind myself to always hustle and reach far and wide for your goals as he would always say to me. Thanks Sid for honoring me to be part of your life

Bronxville resident whom is a lifelong friend of Ethan, zeke Nina etc. Irish Catholic, but we all know Sid was simply worried about the beautiful gift of humanity. When many people counted me out due to immature decisions by me, Sid always articulated his belief in me. If you knew sid, while this immediate grief is rough, we all know Sid is back with Max and others smiling! Love you my man’s Ethan & Zeke!

Oh, Sid , you can’t be gone. There was no one like you. Bigger than life and a force to be reckoned with. We all loved you. I remember you would take the boys to the Yonkers Y on Saturday mornings to play
basketball. I remember Ethan’s “Survivor” party in your family warehouse building in the South Bronx. It was so much fun. I remember one night we all went out for Mexican food in a little place on Riverdale Ave and you and Nina realized it was your anniversary. I loved that we celebrated with you!  You never knew my mother but you came to her funeral. Say hi to her for me.

My deepest condolences to your family. From all I have heard and come to know about him, Sid was a great humanitarian... kind and caring. His death is a tragedy for us all...I just tested positive for covid or I would join you in his remembrance in person. Blessings to you all. Jessica Flagg

There will never be another Sid Blauner. He had a heart of gold and turned helping people into his life's passion. I was always afraid of upsetting him but that was half the fun of being his friend. Sid set a standard in caring about others that cannot be replaced or matched. He took the term "friend" seriously and had a certain expectation that you would reciprocate accordingly. Sid had principles that he would never break. He was a man of integrity and as the standing room only crowd at his service showed, he touched so many people with his good deeds. I have a hole in my heart that I'm not sure will ever mend. Sid was a great human being. If you listened to his message and sometimes forgot about his delivery, you could learn something and most times learn quite a bit. I'm going to miss him so much.

I met Sid at the 2009 Maccabi games . His energy, character, love for the game, willingness to offer advice whether I asked for it or not ha always stood out. We reconnected as a Zeke got older and I went on to have the privilege of coaching Zeke to two gold medals at the 2016 and 2017 maccabi games in stamford and Birmingham. Zeke then came to ardsley where I also had the pleasure to have him for his freshmen year. But to the day we have always kept in touch. Anytime I saw his name on the caller ID I would be like hmm. Do I have 25 min now for a conversation or do i have to call back. One of a kind. A real mensch with a big heart. I was glad to know him and his family and he will be missed.

I met Sid in 1985 in Tel Aviv, we became friends and spent a great few years in Tel Aviv enjoying the vitality of the city. When I came back to NY  in the late 80’s I met Sid again and we moved in together and  enjoyed his friendship as we explored the streets of the East Village. Sid was a man of vision and loved to talk about many topics. His was funny and enjoyed making people  laugh. 
I just came back from Israel a few months ago and connected again with Sid. I was happy to have him again in my life.
Now he is gone I feel the loss.
May all those close to him carry him in us so he continues to live amongst us.

We send our sincerest sympathy to Sid's family and friends during this time of loss. Sid was inspirational to many people, changing the course of lives, ours included. He helped to give us a deep confidence in our business and we will be forever grateful to him.

I cannot remember a time before I knew Sid.  His passion, his love, his humor and his mission to make life better for anyone he knew & loved (& also for those he didn't know) came through in everything he did.  Sid was a true mensch who will be missed by many.  It is hard to believe he is gone.  The best of Sid was TRULY the BEST.  May we carry forward his love of family, friends and community -- and may his memory be a blessing to all.

I was fortunate enough to meet Sid in the early nineties, and although with apparently little in common (me, Brit bohemian club owner and bonne vivant, Sid, hard working, married Jewish realtor, and quintessential New Yorker), we became great friends.
        At the onset, i designed a club for him (Flipside), on the Upper West Side....he learned how to make clubs attractive, i learned much about how to be a mensch in this city that never relaxes, let alone sleeps.
      We were close mates, with all kinds of ventures and exploits, until I moved to Shanghai in'07. I was thrilled when i got a call from him in 2019 (i now live in London) to come and help refurbish his stunning mansion on the Hudson, and have intermittently nipped over to throw in my 10 cents worth.
   Sid was a truly lovely man, always among my favorite New Yorkers...he mixed the traditional with the new in his own inimitable style, and i loved him lots. As all who read this agree, he will be missed.

When I was a young man and new student at Bronxville High School, the Blauner family was amazingly supportive in a moment in my life when I needed support. Sid was a huge part of that. I felt like an outsider in the community at first, but was eventually embraced because, in a huge way, the Blauner family. My family and I send all of our love.

When I got the news of what happened with Sid I had to sit down and gather myself because I thought Sid would be around forever! Sid was part of our Lincoln Park group of friends from the late 60's until this very day! When I was headed in the wrong direction Sid went out of his way numerous times and pulled me back to reality and for the last several years made sure I got to the Shul on every high Holiday had Ubers pick me up and got me involved with the synagogue near my house and lastly when I lost my dad in 2015 when me and my mom sister and niece and nephew got to the chapel for his funeral Sid was already there and I will forever love him for that! You will be missed and I will now do my best to try to get to a few of Zeke's game!

My first memory of you is sitting next to you in the first grade in PS 21 in Yonkers and the most recent is you helping me get masks during the pandemic.    My sympathies to your family and friends.

My hearing this news was heartbreaking. I met the boys of Lincoln Park at a time before I could remember so there was never a time that I didn't know Sid.  Although the friendships within our neighborhood would vary due to current happenings, there was never a time that I doubted Sid's friendship or support. Sometimes his way of showing his friendship was questionable due to his tenacity and strength of character but I certainly would not have learned to ably fight adversity through life if not for Sid's special way of making sure I hustled to first base or played tight coverage on defense or took a proper jump shot. And who could stop the Blauner-Kessler stop-and-go down the sideline?? :)

My brother Bob and I were Lincoln Park friends with Sid dating back to the mid 1970s and the relationship was sustained through various methods of contact over nearly 50 years.  Each encounter with Sidney always felt special.

Bob and I had the very great privilege to visit Sid in Ossining last November and had a glorious afternoon watching the FIFA World Cup with Sid along with old friends Moshe and Andy.

Sid sent me the following text message afterward:

“Paul, it was great seeing you and Bob for the holidays. You’re a great brother. Your parents are proud of you both.”

He knew what was important, he had a great heart, he was a lot of fun and a great man.  I’m going to miss him terribly.

Sidney I wanted to state publicly that this gentleman my friend took me in when I was homeless over 40 years ago in the winter an saved my Life ❗️ Sid you kept me company an gave me Hope 😊  May God Grace an grant you eternal Peace 🌅 Shalom

I'm heartbroken! Sid you brought so much life to our family. Your 'totally in' attitude was a unique spark that felt true and good. Like the way you looked after Max, your dad after he passed - totally committed....And Ethan's Bar Mitzvah weekend at the Nevelle, I think. No one else would have done it that way. Way fun!!!! And the way you coached our kids in baseball... can't think of another person who made such a difference about something he cared deeply about....And thank you for the clarification "Practice Makes Permanent" - that's one that I've thought about alot.... And then there was the time I stole a base hit from you when we were playing softball a while back at Seton Park. You probably didn't give it a second thought, but I have to admit I really relished the catch I made that evening..... It meant something to me to rob Sid of a hit!!! I even hung up my glove after that catch.....Gonna miss you... a lot. Really.

Bro, At this moment can't imagine life without You, my Little Bro.
I am heartbroken 💔 but know we are all together,  comforting each other and all of ypur mamy friends. 
We have our arms, hearts , love and hugs around Ethan and Zeke for as long as we continue on.

Sid was a real doer. He was full of surprises.

He was a special person and a very special friend. I loved Sid.

My condolences to you and your entire family this breaks my heart. I met zeke in high school or before that and we bonded over basketball. I knew from there we would be brothers. He treated me like family and got me close with his pops. Untill than he was one of the best coaches and just a great person overall and very determined and confident and fearless for some reason. He always seemed like he was in game mode on a regular basis just workin working. Sorry to hear that he was taken from us and i will always love you guys and will always be family.

Sid was a special person and he was a very special friend. I loved the guy.

My heart goes out to the Blauner family❤️ although I never had the chance to meet Sidney, he has raised 2 outstanding gentlemen that I’m very lucky to have met and become friends with.  Love you guys.

I’ll always keep my childhood memories of Sid near and dear to my heart. I was shocked and saddened to hear the news. I’m very upset I won’t be able to attend the ceremony this weekend.  I wish I was able to. I’ll be thinking of him this weekend.
