Robert “Bob” Ross, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Regional Hospice in Danbury, Connecticut on Saturday June 11 2022. Bob was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York to parents Ann and Al and with his younger sister, Susan. He went to Tilden High School and later to Brooklyn and Queens College. He served in the US Army at the same time as Elvis Presley, a story that was a favorite to tell along with his escapades in Germany. After returning from the army, he met and fell in love, and then married Barbara (Cook) in 1962. They were married for 58 years. Bob and Barbara continued to live in Brooklyn where they raised their 2 daughters Rose and Sheryl. Bob worked in sales for various entities and worked for a time for Channel 5 television. An avid bowler, he appeared on the NY TV game show “Bowling for Dollars” in the late 1970’s and won a Michael C. Fina silver casserole dish for bowling a strike and a spare! He enjoyed cheering for his favorite New York teams, going to casinos and on cruises, and made friends everywhere he went. He loved music, especially from the 1950’s, and was famous for his dancing – you did not have to ask twice to get him on the dance floor. His greatest joys were his three grandchildren Brianna, Harrison and Katie who he loved with all of his heart.
