Cherished daughter of the late Sigmund and Toni (Antonia) Haber. Devoted wife of the late Jack Tamres. Beloved by her children Lisa and Mark Tamres and grandchildren Steven and Samantha Tamres.
Gina was born in Berlin and her family fled Germany for England after Kristallnacht when she was 3yrs old. She lived through the blitz in London and then moved to NY at the age of 16 yrs. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Brooklyn College where she met Jack Tamres, her treasured husband of 40 years.
Gina retired from working at A&S and then Macy's department store.
Other than her family, bridge was Gina's passion in life and she achieved the status of Life Master of championship bridge. She loved traveling the world with her beloved husband and family.
She was a loving and spirited woman who was very generous with her heart and put her family before her own needs.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dementia Society (DementiaSociety.org) are appreciated. A private funeral will be held and there will be no Shiva due to COVID. Arrangements being handled by Riverside Memorial Chapel, Mt. Vernon, New York.
