Retired Master Sergeant, William K. Washburn, 85, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away on June 28, 2020. He was born in Emhouse, Texas on June 11, 1935 to Walter D. Washburn and Cynthia A. Dees Washburn. Mr. Washburn entered the United States Air Force and served honorably for 22 years. His last jobs in the USAF were Aircraft Control and Warning Radar Technician and as a Ground Radar Superintendent. His time in the service took him to Iceland, Germany, and multiple states. He retired while stationed at Klamath AFS, California and then relocated with his family to Bossier City, Louisiana. Within a week he found employment at C.F. Biggs where he worked for 20 years as a copy machine repairman. In Mr. Washburn’s free-time he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, painting, planting flowers, and watching the Saints games.
Mr. Washburn was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Cynthia Washburn, as well as his sister Marie Amos.
Mr. Washburn is survived by: his beloved wife of 57 years, Addie Lou Washburn; his daughter, Leda Renee Dominguez; son-in-law, Hector Dominguez; beloved grandsons, William, Phillip, and Grant Dominguez. He is also survived by: his sisters, Delores Hearn, Dianne Harrell and brother-in-law Bob Harrell. In addition he is survived by: his sisters-in-law, Edna Mancil and Irene Phillips; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and one devoted dog, Maxie.
A Graveside service with full Military Honors will be 10:00 AM, July 1, 2020, in the Mausoleum, at Hill Crest Memorial Park, Mike Powell, presiding, with ASAF Honor Guard, assisting.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
