Ronald Joe Schindall

ELM GROVE, LA – A Memorial Service for Ronald Joe Schindall, 67, will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Msgr. Earl V. Provenza officiating. The family will receive visitors at 12:00 p.m. the hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ronald was born in Fort Madison, Iowa to Lavern Charles and Catherine Jane Schindall on December 5, 1945. After college, he joined the Air Force at Barksdale where he remained working for the base for 35 years in civil service. He then worked for CenturyTel for five years. Ron was also a founding member of the South Bossier Fire Department. He served as Chief for ten years, and then continued to serve on the Board of Directors.

He enjoyed scuba diving, hunting, genealogy and loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bobby. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Bonnie Schindall, his children Jeff Schindall of Washington, D.C., Adam Schindall and wife Paula of Frisco, TX, Amy Schindall Johnson and husband Brad of Conway, AR, grandchildren Jacob and Sarah Schindall and Cooper, Brady and Camille Johnson. He is also survived by two sisters, Pat Munz and Sandra Schindall-Cozzolino and multiple nieces and nephews.
