BOSSIER CITY LA- Funeral services for CMSGT Robert L. Moak will be Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Lane Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Hill Crest Funeral Home.
Chief Moak spent six years in the United States Army during World War II. He was assigned to the 86th Division, in the European Theatre, and was also in the Army of Occupied Japan. Robert then joined the United States Air Force where he served at Strategic Air Command’s command post and headquarters. He attained the rank of Chief Master Sargent in 1961, and retired from Barksdale Air Force in 1971.
Chief Moak is preceded in death by his parents Levy R. Moak and Courtney Herrington Moak and daughter, Patricia Ann Poer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Helen Moak; sons Robert L. Moak II, David Michael Moak; grandchildren Robert L. Moak III, Robert Micheal Johnson, Kenneth Wayne Johnson, Courtney Arenda Stephens and Jacob Michael Moak. Robert also leaves behind to cherish his memory nine great grandchildren and one great great- grandchild.
