Paul Michael Spears

SHREVEPORT, LA – Paul Michael Spears was born on December 25, 1967, in Orlando, Florida. He passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Madonna Hall at Holy Angels Residential Facility in Shreveport after a long illness.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Alice Spears; a sister, Theresa Nichols, wife of Shay Nichols, and son, Seth Nichols of Ruston, LA. Paul is also survived by his brother, Kevin Spears, son Steven Brown of Nashville, wife, Micah and daughter Elizabeth. Paul will be missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.

Paul entered Holy Angels in March of 1990, after transferring from St. Mary’s Residential Facility in Alexandria, LA. Paul was known for working on 300 pc. jigsaw puzzles, and having them framed. He attended all activities and classes while at Holy Angels that included working in the shredding workshop, and sewing crafts. He looked forward to all the off-campus activities. Holy Angels provided a safe, loving, spiritual and caring environment for our son, and he was always treated with great dignity. Paul enjoyed life to its fullest.

We thank the staff at the Fay Home who brought joy to his life. We thank the staff at Madonna Hall, and Amedisys Hospice Care who offered comfort to Paul and his family through the end of his life, and we are especially thankful for Holy Angels that Paul always referred to as his “home”.

Services to celebrate his life will be held in the chapel at Holy Angels on Friday, January 20th at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Holy Angels, 10450 Ellerbe Road, Shreveport, LA 71106.
