Norma Jean Dowing, age 83, of Bossier City, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023. She was born on February 13, 1940 in Denver, Colorado to the late Tony and Della Helena Cross Stallsworth. Norma graduated from Prescott High School. She had a career in child care for over fifty years and had an in home daycare in Bossier City. Norma was a member of First Baptist Bossier and had a passion for flowers, her grandchildren, her family and friends.
Norma was preceded in passing by her parents; two sisters and brothers in law: Virginia Weaver and husband Dale, Evelyn McKinnon and husband Ardell; one sister-in-law, Mildred Stallsworth; one niece, Connie McKinnon; and one great-granddaughter, Lucia Sierra.
Left to cherish Norma’s beautiful memories are two children: son, Steven Dowings and wife Debbie, Kathy Dowings Bacot and husband John; seven grandchildren: Kelli Strong Dauphin, Brandy Dowings McCandless and husband Jason, Diana Dowings Sierra and husband Roger, Steven A. Dowings, Timothy Dowings and wife Emily, Matthew Strong and wife Katie, Emily Dowings; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Stallsworth; two sisters: Patsy Brandt and husband Dave, Kay Taverner and husband Everett; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Eaves, Willis Knighton Heart Institution, family, friends, and church family for the professional care, support, prayers, and condolences provided during our great time of need.

A visitation for Norma will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 9:00 AM until time for the graveside celebration at 10:00 AM on the grounds of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
