Gene was born on July 5, 1943 in Monroe, LA to Noel Elton and Bettie (Kennedy) Brazzeal. He spent six years in the National Guard and retired from the retail business in 2009.
He was very generous and went out of his way to bless others. He enjoyed woodworking. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially with his great-granddaughter Ella Marie. He was a faithful Christian and a member of the Huntington Park Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Kendel, and his nephew Dan.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Fannie Brazzeal; daughter Karen Raschke and her husband Richard; son Barry and his wife Tina; son Brad and his wife Audrey; grandchildren Amanda Parker (Dustin), Austin, Anna Tye (Wesley), Abigail, Brett, Leighton Raschke, and Joshua Raschke; great granddaughter Ella Marie Parker; nephew Chuck Brazzeal; and niece Bridget Leifling.
A visitation for Gene will be held Monday, July 22, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Following the visitation, there will be a graveside service at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
