Mary Ann (Kruithof) Mathis

Mary Ann was born May 29th, 1932 to her parents Ysbrand and Hendricka Kruithof, both from Holland. She was the seventh child in a family of eight siblings. She grew up during the Depression, learning the value of hard work at an early age. She attended schools in Bossier City. Her employment included accounts billing and receiving, and in later years she became a personal-care-giver. She was of the Baptist faith and loved reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, and doing embroidery. She loved drinking a cup of hot tea while watching and listening to the birds in her yard. She loved her cats and was a wonderful cook. Above all else, she loved God and her family.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Ysbrand and Hendricka Kruithof; brothers, Neal and Jerry; and Sisters, Greta, Nell, Hennie, and Tom.

Surviving her are: son, Michael Mathis and wife Tammie; brother Johnny Kruithof and wife Elizabeth; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services in her honor will begin with a visitation, in the state room, 9:00 am – 10:00 am, followed by a Graveside funeral, each taking place on Wednesday June 21st at Hillcrest Funeral Home, Haughton, Louisiana.
